Career Pathways Community of Practice meeting - 12/10/2019

Please join WINTAC for a discussion with Karin Grandon as she discusses strategies for serving disconnected youth – such as those involved in the juvenile justice system, the foster care system and other traditionally underserved and/or isolated youth populations – who need to re-engage with education and/or work. This is done through the Youth Technical Assistance Center (Y-TAC), a U.S. Department of Education’s Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA)-funded Technical Assistance Center. The Y-TAC is charged with providing State Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) agencies and related rehabilitation and youth service professionals with technical assistance to help more effectively serve students and youth with disabilities.

Join us to learn about…

- Opportunity/Out-of-School Youth (OSY) and why WIOA stakeholders should know about them;

- How OSY intersects with Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) and the WIOA Career Pathways focus; and

- How Y-TAC is assisting VR and VR stakeholders to improve services for OSY and how agencies can participate/benefit from these activities.

Presenter: Karin Grandon, Technical Assistance Liaison, Institute for Educational Leadership
