Activities for Traditionally Underserved Populations - 84.315C - Comment Period Closing Date: 8/21/2020

The purpose of this activity for traditionally underserved populations is to make awards to minority entities and Indian Tribes to conduct research, training and technical assistance, and related activities to improve services under the Rehabilitation Act, especially services provided to individuals from minority backgrounds.

Independent Living Services for Older Individuals Who Are Blind Training and Technical Assistance – CFDA 84.177Z - Application Deadline: 9/3/2020

A Notice of Final Priorities and a Notice Inviting Applications for Independent Living Services for Older Individuals Who Are Blind Training and Technical Assistance (CFDA 84.177Z) have been approved by the Department of Education and sent to the Federal Register for publication. The purpose of this program is to provide training and technical assistance to designated State agencies (DSAs)--the State agencies that provide vocational rehabilitation services to individuals who are blind--that receive grant funding under the OIB program and to other service providers that receive OIB program funding from DSAs to provide services to consumers.

We are sharing this information with you now to allow sufficient time to prepare an application. We do not have a timeframe for publication in the Federal Register. Please note: the application due date will be confirmed on the date of publication. An application package will be posted in Grants.Gov when the Notices officially are published.

Innovative Rehabilitation Training - CFDA 84.263D/E/F - Application Deadline: 9/3/2020

A Notice of Final Priorities and a Notice Inviting Applications for the Innovative Rehabilitation Training program (CFDA 84.263D/E/F) have been approved by the Department of Education and sent to the Federal Register for publication. The Innovative Rehabilitation Training program is designed to develop (a) new types of training programs for rehabilitation personnel and to demonstrate the effectiveness of these new types of training programs for rehabilitation personnel in providing rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities; (b) new and improved methods of training rehabilitation personnel so that there may be a more effective delivery of rehabilitation services to individuals with disabilities by designated State rehabilitation agencies and designated State rehabilitation units or other public or non-profit rehabilitation service agencies or organizations; and (c) new innovative training programs for Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) professionals and paraprofessionals to have a 21st-century understanding of the evolving labor force and the needs of individuals with disabilities so they can more effectively provide VR services to individuals with disabilities.
