Title Understanding Internships
Summary An internship is a great way to learn about a profession, explore employment options, develop and foster new networks, explore workplace cultures, and learn if a particular career path is right for you. For youth with disabilities, internships can also be an excellent opportunity to identify and practice useful job accommodations and assistive technologies. PACER’s National Parent Center on Transition and Employment’s webpage, Understanding Internships, provides answers to basic questions such as “Why seek an internship?,” “What is an internship?,” “What are the benefits of internships?,” and “Where do I find an internship?”
