Chaz Compton, EdD has been working in the field of human services for 30 years. He has served as an administrator for a large community rehabilitation program and worked as a counselor, supervisor and administrator for the public Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Program in California for over 20 years. Currently, Compton provides technical assistance and training to VR programs through the Interwork Institute at San Diego State University (SDSU), where he has served for six years. He was the director of the TACE program for Region 9, and currently directs the Workforce Innovation Technical Assistance Center (WINTAC), a national center whose role is to help VR programs effectively implement the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Compton has a doctorate in education through San Diego State University. He has a master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from SDSU, is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and has a post-graduate certificate in rehabilitation administration.
